Police hopeful on MMS mastermind, abduction case to be handed over to CBI: HM
ITANAGAR, Apr 8: State Police is still clueless about the whereabouts of ASI Boham Bo, the main accused of Daporijo MMS scandal. But, Home Department is hoping that the accused would be apprehended soon. “Police is working day and night to nab the absconding ASI, and he would be arrested soon,” asserted Home Minister Tako Dabi.
ASI Bo, who was granted anticipatory bail by Chief Judicial Magistrate on March 21 to appear before Daporijo CJM, has been missing since then.
Though there is no official confirmation, reliable sources says that Bo has already left the state.
Legal action against the four arrested accused has already been initiated, Dabi said in a Press conference here this afternoon.
One of the accused Head Constable Duyu Tatu surrendered before Lower Subansiri District Magistrate Nila Mohanan at Ziro yesterday. Other three arrested are Constable Tapar Norah, Rajesh Nayam and Kili Nguri.
Inspector Hazarika of Daporijo police station, who was sent to Itanagar to bring Bo to Daporijo, has been suspended from service for dereliction of duty, Dabi said. “The crime was committed two year back in 2009 and before I became the Home Minister,” Dabi informed. The case has been registered at Daporijo police station only after it came into limelight through media recently, he said.
The Home Minister, meanwhile, informed that the State Government has decided to hand over the Sanjay Kumar abduction case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) since State Police failed to find any clues about his whereabouts.
The decision was taken after the joint search operation conducted by Arunachal Police and Assam Police in deep jungles and various other locations of both Assam and Arunachal failed to find any clues to where he may be, Dabi said.
Sanjay, a native from Bihar was kidnapped on November 24 last year from Kharsang in Changlang district while he was on his way to Kharsang coal mine field where he was working as a supervisor of Arunachal Pradesh Mineral Development and Trading Corporation Limited.
On Tirap and Changlang situation, the Home Minister claimed that there had been no such serious law and order problem prevailing as forces deployed in both the districts were tackling all situations effectively.
Dabi, meanwhile, informed that Centre has sanctioned Rs 138.95 crore for upgrading and strengthening Arunachal Police. State police would be fully equipped, modernized and ready to tackle any situation itself within 10 years, he claimed.
Though there had been insufficient police forces, Arunachal Police has been effectively maintaining law and order situation in the state, Dabi claimed.

He also informed about punitive action taken against inobedient and alcohol addicted police personnel by Home Department. He said that 21 such personnel have been sent for corrective/rehabilitation training and two were suspended for their links with underground (UG) elements. One of them has been killed by suspected UG activists after he was released from jail while another was still in jail, Dabi added.

Rally against MMS to begin at 7.30 am
ITANAGAR, Apr 8: The peace rally ‘Voice in Unison for Justice’ is all set to begin here on Saturday spearheaded by Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum (AITF) in protest against the infamous Daporijo PS MMS scandal.
The peace rally will start from RK Mission Helipad at 7.30 in the morning and culminate at Raj Bhavan in an attempt to create public awareness on human rights violation and to place collective public opinion for introduction of reforms in Police Administration, Law and Order system in the state.
AITF Vice Chairperson Jarjum Gamlin Ete today informed that the rally will be a peaceful one with no slogan shouting. Volunteers will take part in the protest rally silently with placards and banners in black dress as mark of protest, she said. She also informed that the participants should not carry any objectionable articles like daos, sticks, rods or other sharp weapons to maintain peaceful atmosphere during the rally.

ITANAGAR, Apr 8: All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) has called for the banning of selling of Mithun meat in markets of capital complex. Expressing concern over declining number of Mithun population, ANSU urged market welfare associations and capital complex deputy commissioner to ban selling of Mithun meat at the earliest. “Mithun’s are being killed daily and sold in various markets of capital complex. At this rate of killing, Mithun may get extinct in near future. We appeal capital administration to ban selling of Mithun meat at the earliest,” said ANSU General Secretary Arjun Panye.
He further added, “In recent years it’s been seen that during traditional marriage feast large number of Mithun are being killed. We would like to appeal Nyishi Elite Society to look into this matter and there should be certain limits on number of Mithun being sacrificed during marriage ceremony.”
ANSU has urged government to start more number of Mithun breeding centres to increase their population. “Most of the Mithun breeding centres are not functioning properly at the moment. Government should revamp those centres immediately and also set up few more new ones. Mithun is most precious animal of Arunachalee tribal’s we need to conserve them at any cost,” ANSU said in a release.

ITANAGAR, Apr 8: At a time when Naga issue is hogging limelight in Arunachal because of recent event like NSCN (K) threat letter against Dorjee Khandu government and decision by Naga People’s Party to form its Arunachal unit, Naga Student Federation (NSF) have invited AAPSU President Takam Tatung to be part of their forthcoming general conference.
This move by NSF has surprised political experts of state and many believe it to be political move with backing of political bosses of Nagaland.
As per invitation letter, NSF is organizing its 24th general conference at Pfutsero town, Nagaland, from 27th to 30th April. More than two thousand delegates are expected to participate in the conference.
NSF was formed in the year 1947 when Naga political movement was at its peak. Even though a student body, NSF is deeply rooted on Naga political movement.

The ongoing agitation launched by Anna Hazare is commendable and people should realize how we are under the shadow of the corrupted people.
Our State Arunachal is run by the traitors not by true representatives. Democracy is being purchased here and clean honest and learned People have no Place in political system of Arunachal Pradesh. Due to too much corruption, there is a serious challenge to development.
In the political realm, it undermines democracy and good Governance by flouting or even subverting formal processes. Corruptions have almost changed the elections and legislative bodies of our State, have reduced accountability, and distorted representation in policymaking.
In Arunachal, even the RTI has been hijacked by the Government by enhancing the Fees of Per Paper to Rs 10, which is a joke.
Common people have to think twice before filing RTI.
And judiciary is totally in dark.
Even the press is not free here and write up against the Govt is not permissible.
Very recently Save Arunachal Forum was formed which is a gutsy move. We should support their move to save Arunachal.
Everybody knows that in our State due to corruption, capacity of government has been eroded and procedures are disregarded. Resources are siphoned off and public offices are bought and sold, the legitimacy of government undermined due to corruption.
Instead of land of Rising sun, Arunachal has become land of Corruption.
Therefore, its excellent opportunity for us to support the cause and supports the Voice of Anna Hazare to make Arunachal a corruption free State.

It is beyond doubt, the recent hunger strike unto death called by Anna Hazare, a social activist, is spreading like wildfire. Undoubtedly, he has not taken this bold step for himself, but for every Indians. And at his age hardly some people may think of taking such risk. The key demand for which Annaji has called for fast unto death is early implementation of Lokpal Bill in the central level. Annaji is not doing a new thing spontaneously, rather the seed of anger or cynicism has been sown for 42 years and now it is burst out. Within this 42 years why the govt. did not implement the Bill? With this sentiment coupled with recent scams after scams such as CWG, 2G spectrum, Adarsh Society, ISRO etc added fuel to the fire.
This Lokpal Bill with some changes as proposed by Annaji, may be the last weapon through which we can reduce the mushrooming of corruption in the country.

It is really a matter of pride that out of 1.21 billion population, there arose one Anna Hazare, 72 yr young to uproot the evil called Corrution. Corruption is present everywhere, right from session to Sanction, from ration to education, from rich to poor as a fashion, from high and low as passion.
If corruption is present today at such high scale, it is also because of the support of people irrespective of caste, creed, language, religion. It is nothing but an organised crime.
But, people who tried to speak against it are nipped at bud. All problems of the country right from regionalism or terrorism many of these have come up due to corruption. It is so generalised today that it can be regarded as a Theory utilised by all. No one can deny it. Corruption is against human rights. So, now a solution is a must. Hail the Jan Lok Pal Bill.

Everyday I walk at the Indira Gandhi Park and one thing keeps worrying me is that in the North Eastern side of the park intrusion is on and no one seems to mind.
If not stopped now, it will kill the only attraction in the capital. Why build walls in the middle of the park and no wall in the boundary?

Govt. should make a way for them by giving them a license to practice in private
as well and in return they should be barred from pay incentives like Non Practicing
Allowance and others. So that the employees who want to dedicate themselves in their

The allegation and counter allegation published in your esteemed daily under different heading on the utilization of SPA fund in Ruksin CD Block by some vested individual is unfortunate. When an FIR has already been lodged with Pasighat Police for the case, why the complainant has opted for press release?
The Anchal Chairperson and forty six (46) others where the work has been executed has expressed satisfaction over the execution of the work under SPA by the BDO, Ruksin.
How can a resident of Mirbuk which does not fall under Ruksin CD Block made the complaint and lodge the FIR. It shows their malice intention.
Therefore, it is my humble appeal to all the concern individuals and groups not to resort to such tactics to mitigate their personnel enmity. Such action by certain individual will affect the pace of developmental work and also tarnish the image of a dedicated and sincere officer.

ITANAGAR, April 8: Not only the politicians, but the voters are also responsible for corruption in the state, said former minister Kardu Taipodia in a release today.
Pointing out the hue and cry raised against corruption in the state, Taipodia said, even in last Assembly election, voters took huge amount of money for casting votes. Citing his personal experience Taipodia said he got only 44 votes as PPA candidate in last assembly poll as he was against money power to sway voters.
Meanwhile, Taipodia said that he had resigned from the post of Janata Dal, state unit president after last assembly election.
Treasury officer’s death mourned
ITANAGAR, Apr 8: The officers and staff of the Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries, directorate of Audit and Pension, directorate of Small Savings have condoled the demise of B M Paul, treasury officer, Daporijo, who died due to heart ailment today.
Born in January 28, 1963, Paul joined the Govt service on Oct, 1987 and promoted to FAO/TO in 1994. He also discharged his duty in various departments with sincerity and devotion.
The staff members observed two minutes silence and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. They also conveyed deep sense of condolence to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Finance and Accounts Service Association, Itanagar also deeply mourned the death of Paul. Late Paul will always be remembered for his cool disposition and amiable nature, the Association said in a condolence message.

ITANAGAR, Apr 8: All Mengio Students Union (AMSU) has appealed to the BSNL authorities to make the Mobile tower at Mengio functional within this month.
The mobile tower was erected last year but left unused for the reason best known to the authorities, the union said and urged the authorities to activate the tower as early as possible for benefit of local people.

Unions oppose I G Park convention hall
ITANAGAR, April 8: All Arunachal Pradesh Government Departmental Labours Union (AAPGDLU) and All Arunachal Pradesh Forest Workers Union in a joint meeting held here yesterday demanded cancellation of no objection certificate and land allotment at I G Park for construction of convention hall.
The Unions said the initiative of the Urban Development and Housing department for construction of convention hall there will render the 11 families of casual labours homeless who are residing for last 20 years. It demanded that the forest department immediately cancel its no objection certificate issued to housing department for the purpose. They further threatened to agitate in case of failure of authorities pay heed to their demands.

ITANAGAR: Expressing concern over the social evils being practiced in the state till today, All Puroik Youth Association (APYA) has appealed to the people comply with the Bonded Labour Abolition Act – 1967. The Association particularly requested those people who are still availing the services of Puroik boys and girls as domestic servants to release them immediately on humanitarian ground.
Buying and selling of Puroik children have already been banned in the state, the Association said and threatened to approach National Human Rights Commission if such practices are continued.

Basar appointed as AICSO president
ITANAGAR: Tomar Basar has been appointed as president of All India Congress Social Organization (AICSO), Arunachal Pradesh.

ITANAGAR, Apr 8: Nginu Village Youth Association of Wakka circle in Tirap district has deeply mourned sudden demise of Wangma Wangsa.
A popular radio artist, late Wangsa had contributed many Wancho modern songs for All India Radio, Itanagar. Association has prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Late Wangsa who was 54 years old today died at his native Nginu village. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
